On 6th June 2022, Apple WWDC 2022 announcements kicked off with a keynote from CEO Tim Cook. Users and developers alike were eagerly anticipating Apple’s big announcements at the event.

The Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple’s most eagerly anticipated annual developers conference, began on June 6th, 2022. The event will last till June 10th, 2022 at the latest. CEO Tim Cook gave the Apple WWDC 2022 keynote address at the company’s 33rd Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). It was a busy first day for Apple at the WWDC 2022, with the release of iOS 16 and the M2 MacBook Air.

Listed here are the most important Apple WWDC 2022 highlights from the company:

1. Updated MacOS – Ventura

Ventura, the codename for the upcoming version of macOS, will include a number of new features and enhancements, including a more productive Mail app and updated camera software.

2. Brand new MacBook

It is expected that the powerful M2 chip will be installed in a brand new MacBook Air. The new Air has a 13.6-inch liquid Retina display with a Magsafe charging system and measures 11.3 inches thick, weighs 2.7 pounds, and is 2.7 pounds in weight. It also comes with a headphone jack. All four colors of the MacBook Air will be sold for $1.199 each. The entry-level MacBook Pro costs $1,299. We’ll be able to use both computers in July.

3. iOS16 will feature ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’

Widgets, a more customizable lock screen, and an entirely new notification system are all part of the upcoming iPhone operating system. Apple Pay users will be able to pay in four equal installments over the course of six weeks without incurring any additional fees when using the service. Ford Motor Company and Jaguar Land Rover are among the automakers that will incorporate CarPlay into their vehicles with the release of the new iOS.

4. M2 chip

An updated version of the M1 chip, Apple’s first in-house semiconductor, was unveiled. The new M2 processor outperforms its predecessor by 18% and features a 24-gigabyte unified memory and the ability to play multiple streams of 4K and 8K video. Apple also released an updated MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro with the new CPU.

5. In iPadOS 16, there are new collaboration and multitasking features.

A slew of new features for teamwork and multitasking are included in iPadOS 16. Within Office, users will have access to Pages and a brand-new whiteboard tool called Freedom Additionally, Stage Manager, a new multitasking feature for iPad users was unveiled by Apple. As a result, iPads now behave more like laptops than desktop computers.

6. WatchOS improves the functionality of the device.

Workout analytics and heart rate zones will be included in Apple’s upcoming WatchOS 9 software. To that end, it expects to soon receive FDA approval for an atrial fibrillation health feature. Additional features include medication lists and reminders for when to take prescribed medications, which will be available in the upcoming software upgrade.

7. Security update on new iOS

Apple has also made significant improvements to security on the latest iOS. Users can now cancel access to their personal data, such as shared locations, through the new Safety Check feature in the settings app. For added security, the Safety Check page allows users to log out of their iCloud accounts on other devices.

8. Webcams with iPhones

No matter how hard Apple tries, they cannot fit a high-resolution camera into the bezels of their Macs and MacBooks. The ability to use an iPhone’s camera as a webcam has been added to macOS. Apple has simplified and streamlined the process, despite the fact that there were workarounds previously using third-party software.
